Yum-Yum Girls, The (1976)

Yum Yum Girls Poster

An aspiring model (Michelle Daw) comes to New York in hopes of making it big, but finds that things aren’t as easy as she anticipated.

Response to Peary’s Review:
Peary warns us in the first line of his review that “your reputation’s on the line if you admit to having seen a film with such a title” as this. Yet The Yum Yum Girls is actually a rather tame little “R-rated exploitation film”, with a fair amount of humor (especially as “an array of funny actresses [are seen] auditioning or making stupid commercials”) and a surprisingly sympathetic heroine. As Peary points out, while it’s “nothing special”, it could definitely “have been much worse.”

Redeeming Qualities and Moments:

  • Amusing backstage banter and comedic auditions

Must See?
No, but if you’re in the mood for something light and frothy, you might want to check it out.
