features &#8220;uneven&#8221; direction by Richard Benjamin (who &#8220;has a particularly tough time with tone changes&#8221;), and wastes Jessica Harper playing &#8220;a perky, dull girl&#8230; instead of one of her kooky characters.&#8221;
