Unfortunately, the protagonist here &#8212; named simply &#8220;A&#8221; &#8212; is as bland as can be; as played by Voight &#8212; on a roll after performances in <a href=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=27442\"><em>Midnight Cowboy<\/em> (1969)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=788\"><em>Out of It<\/em> (1969)<\/a>, and <em>Catch-22<\/em> (1970), and before starring in <a href=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=44508\"><em>Deliverance<\/em> (1972)<\/a> &#8212; he&#8217;s simply dull and opaque. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-1024x616.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-92349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-1024x616.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-128x77.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-768x462.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1-449x270.png 449w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Revolutionary-Voight-1.png 1172w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t learn much about where &#8220;A&#8221; comes from, why he became radicalized, or why he&#8217;s so instantly drawn towards a young woman-of-privilege (Jennifer Salt) he catches sight of.
