It was inevitably compared with similarly themed films released both just before and after it &#8212; including <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=4552\"><em>The Knack&#8230; And How to Get It<\/em> (1965)<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=27573\"><em>The Graduate<\/em> (1967)<\/a> &#8212; but became a cult favorite in its own right.
