really &#8220;conveys [the] special relationship between mother and son,&#8221; with teenage Apu (Ghosal) realizing &#8220;that he means everything to her, but can&#8217;t allow that to dictate his life.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m not nearly as enamored with this second installation in the Apu trilogy as I am with <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=83417\">the first<\/a> (which remains a truly unique gem), I appreciate Ray allowing us to continue Apu&#8217;s journey with him, seeing his passion for learning and clear trajectory towards a life of the mind. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1011\" height=\"729\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-83469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student.png 1011w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student-128x92.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student-768x554.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Student-374x270.png 374w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1011px) 100vw, 1011px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And while nothing can compare with the beauty of rural Bengal captured in <em>Pather Panchali<\/em>, Ray makes excellent use of location shooting in the city of Varanasi, showing citizens praying, exercising, gathering, and bathing near or in the Ganges River. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1011\" height=\"739\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-83470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges.png 1011w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges-300x219.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges-128x94.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges-768x561.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Aparajito-Ganges-369x270.png 369w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1011px) 100vw, 1011px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This classic Indian film remains well worth a look by film fanatics &#8212;
