Ten years after starring as a no-nonsense flight commander in <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=80309\"><em>Twelve O&#8217;Clock High<\/em> (1949)<\/a>, Gregory Peck returns as another military leader facing a truly daunting task &#8212; but this time around, his personality is less dominant and we&#8217;re more caught up in the collective experiences of his men.
