While Fuller&#8217;s directorial vision and flair are in full view: <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78731\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still.png 640w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still-128x96.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Still-360x270.png 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; the disappointing storyline is (perhaps intentionally) as melodramatic as can be, with Welch&#8217;s black-clad villainness a caricature rather than a reasonably nuanced antagonist.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch.png 640w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch-128x96.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Welch-360x270.png 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To his credit, Fuller makes excellent use of a small budget as he demonstrates his love of this fast-paced world, showcasing the emergence of relevant technologies that shifted the landscape from laborious hand-set type to Mergenthaler&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Linotype_machine\">linotype machine<\/a>: <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78736\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype.png 640w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype-128x96.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Park-Row-Linotype-360x270.png 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, this isn&#8217;t quite enough to keep us fully invested, especially with Welch hissing her way onto the screen far too often.
