Pabst&#8217;s 14th film &#8212; and the last of his titles listed in Peary&#8217;s <em>GFTFF<\/em> &#8212; was this French-German co-production (a.k.a. <em>Comradeship<\/em>) based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Courri%C3%A8res_mine_disaster\">Courri\u00e8res mine disaster of 1906<\/a>, in which more than a thousand miners died. The French have more jobs but can\u2019t sell much of their coal; the Germans make futile daily trips to the border to ask for jobs.
