Eventually, as the attacks persist, she secures help from a pair of paranormal researchers (Richard Brestoff and Michael Alldredge) working for a noted professor (Jacqueline Brookes), all of whom are determined to help document what might be happening to Hershey.\n<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>\n<strong>Genres, Themes, Actors, and Directors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barbara Hershey Films<\/li>\n<li>Horror Films<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;No One Believes Me!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Psychotherapy<\/li>\n<li>Rape<\/li>\n<li>Single Mothers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Response to Peary\u2019s Review: <\/strong><br \/>\nPeary writes that this horror film &#8212; &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/irL6cZY0D2c\">supposedly based on a genuine case history<\/a>&#8221; &#8212; includes &#8220;rape scenes [that] are truly scary (though the brutality may turn off some viewers),&#8221; and &#8220;shows how males immediately try to give females the weaker inadequate position in relationships.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"272\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71041\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver.png 672w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver-300x121.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver-128x52.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Silver-604x244.png 604w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He notes that Silver is presented as someone &#8220;who simultaneously tries to get [Hershey] to believe there is something wrong with her and to take him as her lover,&#8221; and points out that while &#8220;it seems that Silver will be the film&#8217;s hero despite playing mind games with Hershey,&#8221; &#8220;fortunately, in a very good scene, Hershey permanently rejects him.&#8221; He concludes by noting that &#8220;director Sidney J. Furie wisely shot the beautiful Hershey in close-up to build intensity: <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"272\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-71039\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2.png 672w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2-300x121.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2-128x52.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Entity-Hershey2-604x244.png 604w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; [and] gave her free reign,&#8221; resulting in &#8220;a truly great performance that, because it&#8217;s in a very flawed horror film, won Hershey little attention instead of a deserved Oscar nomination.&#8221; I&#8217;m essentially in agreement with Peary&#8217;s assessment of this intriguing but over-long, overly brutal horror flick which pulls no punches in depicting a truly demonic entity ravaging poor Hershey.
