He courts Sandra and brings her back to New Orleans with him, but events quickly take a dark turn for Robertson once again.\n<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>\n<strong>Genres, Themes, Actors, and Directors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brian De Palma Films<\/li>\n<li>Cliff Robertson Films<\/li>\n<li>Genevieve Bujold Films<\/li>\n<li>John Lithgow Films<\/li>\n<li>Kidnapping<\/li>\n<li>Obsessive Love<\/li>\n<li>Paul Schrader Films<\/li>\n<li>Widows and Widowers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Review: <\/strong><br \/>\nCritical and personal opinions remain heavily divided on Brian De Palma&#8217;s output, with some deriding his overtly realized homages to Hitchcock &#8212; in this case, <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=28420\"><em>Vertigo<\/em> (1958)<\/a> &#8212; and others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvdtalk.com\/dvdsavant\/s3669obse.html\">appreciating the unique sensibility he brings to his work<\/a>. This highly atmospheric thriller &#8212; scripted by Paul Schrader &#8212; is a mixed bag, offering plenty of tension and suspense but ultimately not quite delivering (IMO) on its promise. With that said, I&#8217;ll admit to being surprised at several key moments, and staying relatively invested until the odd but reasonable ending.
