Little of the storyline is realistic enough to be believed, but that seems besides the point, given that we&#8217;re meant to empathize with the sorry lot of these men who find their lives unsatisfying enough to commit a major robbery with loaded firearms. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery.png 853w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery-128x72.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Robbery-480x270.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, we&#8217;re not given a reasonable-enough rationale for Burns&#8217; radical (and actually NOT funny) idea, nor are we told quite enough about the other two men to understand their willingness to agree with him. (Strasberg is given one highly affecting moment of reflection back on a poor parenting choice:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65136\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney.png 853w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney-128x72.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Going-in-Style-Carney-480x270.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and we see Carney&#8217;s love for his nephew&#8217;s working-class family &#8212; but that&#8217;s it.)
