Meanwhile, a sycophantic instructor (Ralph Bates) uncovers Mircalla&#8217;s secret identity and is determined to become her disciple, while a concerned gym teacher (Suzanna Leigh) worries about the mysterious disappearance of Mircalla&#8217;s beautiful roommate (Pippa Steele).\n<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>\n<strong>Genres, Themes, Actors, and Directors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Horror<\/li>\n<li>Vampires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Review: <\/strong><br \/>\nFollowing in the footsteps of Roy Ward Baker&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=139\"><em>The Vampire Lovers<\/em> (1970)<\/a>, <em>Lust for a Vampire<\/em> was the second of Hammer Studios&#8217; three &#8220;Karnstein vampire flicks&#8221;, based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carmilla\">novella by Sheridan Le Fanu<\/a>. As many have noted, Danish beauty Yutte Stensgaard is sexy but lacks charisma:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Lust-for-a-Vampire-Cinematography.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Lust-for-a-Vampire-Cinematography.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"416\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Lust-for-a-Vampire-Cinematography.png 720w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Lust-for-a-Vampire-Cinematography-128x74.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Lust-for-a-Vampire-Cinematography-300x173.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and her character pales in comparison to Ingrid Pitt&#8217;s more nuanced portrayal as Carmilla in <em>The Vampire Lovers<\/em>.
