Pasco soon falls in love with the beautiful assistant (Barbara Shelley) of a doctor (Peter Cushing) concealing evidence of the stony corpses from both Pasco and Pasco&#8217;s professor (Christopher Lee), who is convinced the ancient gorgon is embodied in human form.\n<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p>\n<strong>Genres, Themes, Actors, and Directors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Christopher Lee Films<\/li>\n<li>Folk Tales, Fairy Tales and Mythology<\/li>\n<li>Horror<\/li>\n<li>Peter Cushing Films<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Review: <\/strong><br \/>\nThis Terence Fisher-directed Hammer Studios film is based on an interesting mythological premise &#8212; a snake-haired female gorgon who kills people simply by staring at them, turning them to stone (a la Medusa) &#8212; but doesn&#8217;t quite capitalize on its potential. Lee looks uncomfortable rather than dapper in his tweedy professor gear (and his presence feels gratuitous as the third guest to arrive in town to investigate):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-55807\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy.png 1280w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy-128x72.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Gorgon-Tweedy-480x270.png 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cushing&#8217;s motives remain unclear throughout, and the solution to the mystery of the gorgon is foreshadowed far too soon.
