It&#8217;s difficult to say which category <em>Peggy Sue Got Married<\/em> was meant to fit into, but it&#8217;s an unfortunate disappointment regardless. Compared (as it inevitably is) with <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=51036\"><em>Back to the Future<\/em> (1985)<\/a> &#8212; the immensely popular sci-fi time-travel tale released the year before &#8212; <em>Peggy Sue&#8230;<\/em> comes across as overly nostalgic, lacking in any real narrative tension, and bogged down by the terrible miscasting of Nicolas Cage as Peggy Sue&#8217;s insufferable beau and husband:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-1024x572.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"358\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-68692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-1024x572.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-128x72.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-768x429.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-1536x858.png 1536w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage-483x270.png 483w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Peggy-Sue-Cage.png 1827w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s possible this story could have been salvaged if we cared even a bit more for the flawed man she&#8217;s saddled with both as a teen and an adult.
