Peary points out that &#8220;Carl Reiner&#8217;s direction is slipshod and obvious&#8221;, and that &#8220;the script by Phil Alden Robinson&#8230; is so stupid&#8221; we&#8217;re asked to believe in a completely ludicrous ending.
