He notes that the &#8220;picture has less structure than Allen&#8217;s later films&#8221;, and that Allen &#8220;piles on the gags&#8221;, though he argues that &#8220;the immature humor and the forced humor [are] far outnumbered by comic gems&#8221; He&#8217;s born, then suddenly reappears years later as a young boy.)
