Indeed, it&#8217;s easy to see why unsuspecting audiences may have been shocked, given the movie&#8217;s overt treatment of female homosexuality. Although the word &#8220;lesbian&#8221; isn&#8217;t uttered until two hours into the film, there&#8217;s no mistaking what kind of relationship these women have with each other; and for those who might still be unclear, the scene in a lesbian club makes it unambiguous.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64946\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians.jpg 853w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians-128x72.jpg 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/01\/Killing-of-Sister-George-Lesbians-480x270.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sensationalism aside, however, <em>Sister George<\/em> remains a surprisingly humorous tale of grandiosity and insecurity in show biz; we don&#8217;t always like or admire George&#8217;s actions, but we can&#8217;t help feeling compassion for her predicament.
