As Peary notes, the film&#8217;s visuals are &#8220;consistently imaginative, innovative, colorful, and startling&#8221;, and a recent renovation has restored the film&#8217;s eye-popping panorama of colors to full capacity. The sheer variety of animation techniques in <em>Yellow Submarine<\/em> is blissfully overwhelming. If you pause randomly on any given frame, you&#8217;ll undoubtedly be inspired to hang the image on your wall as a legitimate piece of groovy pop art. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-1024x616.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-66700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-1024x616.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-128x77.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-768x462.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-1536x924.png 1536w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still-449x270.png 449w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Still.png 1707w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, watching the imagery in motion &#8212; as colors bleed and entire worlds are literally created and destroyed &#8212; is an indispensable treat all its own. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s enormously satisfying to see the Beatles immortalized as cartoon caricatures; I&#8217;m amazed by how just a few strategically drawn lines make each of them instantly recognizable. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-1024x612.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"383\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-66699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-1024x612.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-128x77.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-768x459.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-1536x918.png 1536w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2-452x270.png 452w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/Yellow-Submarine-Beatles2.png 1715w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And while Peary laments the fact that the Beatles themselves didn&#8217;t provide the voices for their characters, I have to say this didn&#8217;t bother me much &#8212; there&#8217;s no mistaking John, Paul, Ringo, and George, and the group&#8217;s playful banter (exploited so successfully in <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=42454\"><em>A Hard Day&#8217;s Night<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=42519\"><em>Help!<\/em><\/a>) is still greatly in evidence.
