As I noted in my review of <a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/?p=19\"><em>Heaven&#8217;s Gate<\/em> (1980)<\/a>, it&#8217;s a rare instance when I can&#8217;t get all the way through one of the titles listed in Peary&#8217;s book, but this was another exception. The final &#8220;snuff&#8221; scene is ridiculous (and obviously staged): <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-1024x615.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"384\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-68980\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-1024x615.png 1024w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-128x77.png 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-768x461.png 768w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-1536x922.png 1536w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand-450x270.png 450w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/04\/Snuff-Hand.png 1717w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; but nonetheless sparked an urban legend which made scads of unsuspecting people want to go see this mess of a film. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Redeeming Qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>None.<\/em> At all.
