With that said, I <em>would<\/em> recommend <em>2000 Maniacs<\/em> &#8212; which inspired the name of the rock group &#8220;10,000 Maniacs&#8221; &#8212; to film fanatics who&#8217;d like to get a good sense of the &#8220;gore fest&#8221; genre, given that it possesses a surprisingly creepy and original premise in which the killers are &#8220;vengeance-bent ghosts of people who were wiped out by Northern troops in 1869&#8221;, ready to slaughter their unsuspecting guests &#8220;in hideous ways&#8221;. As Peary notes, this is a &#8220;truly scary movie&#8221;; chances are you&#8217;ll feel genuine terror for these unwitting Yankees and the supernatural trouble they find themselves in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Redeeming Qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An extremely creepy, gruesome premise<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/2000-Maniacs-Still.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/2000-Maniacs-Still.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"489\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/2000-Maniacs-Still.jpg 680w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/2000-Maniacs-Still-128x92.jpg 128w, https:\/\/filmfanatic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/03\/2000-Maniacs-Still-300x215.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Must See? <\/strong><br \/>\nYes.
