Where Can I Find These Movies?

Fortunately, the majority of titles in Peary’s book are readily available through Netflix or Blockbuster online.
Many others, however, have either not been released yet on DVD, or aren’t likely to be carried by major providers. Your first step should be to check your locally owned video stores, and be willing to dig deep into dusty corners — you never know what older video releases you may find!
If you don’t have much luck this way, you may want to try the following online resources:
Unfortunately, it’s pretty costly to have videos shipped to you across the country, but if you really want to see these movies, it’s worth it.
The Turner Classic Movies website contains a database function which allows you to vote on the films you’d most like to see released to DVD; this information is then forwarded periodically to distributors, so if enough people vote, there’s a chance you may actually see some action. Alternatively, you can write to TCM and suggest that they show a particular movie — both times I’ve done this (for So Long at the Fair and The Unsuspected), they’ve honored my request, so it’s definitely worth a shot!
Finally, I occasionally make arrangements regarding my personal copies of hard-to-find titles, for people interested in contributing comments to this site. Write to me at filmfanatic.org@gmail.com for more information.
P.S. I’m currently looking for the following hard-to-find titles. If you have a copy you’re willing to loan, please drop me a line. Thanks in advance for your help!
